Carrefour Romania sales remain positive in Q3 | Progresiv
French group Carrefour, the world's second-largest revenue-generating retail player, reported for the third quarter of this year a 9.2% increase in sales comparable to the same period of the previous year, to 503 million euro, according to the company's financial report.
In terms of nine-month results, the retailer reported 1.44 billion euros in turnover on the local market, up by 7.7% over the same period in 2016.
At Europe's level, the group reported a 0.6% increase in like-for-like sales, most of the countries in the region being heavily affected by the fall in prices for seasonal vegetables and fruits. In fact, Romania and Poland are countries where we can talk about a positive dynamics of like-for-like sales (+ 9.2% and 4.4% respectively).
Globally, Carrefour reported an organic growth of 0.5% in the third quarter, to 21.85 billion euros. In France, comparable sales fell by 0.9%, while in Latin America emerging markets, revenue rose by 4.4% (Argentina - + 16.7% in comparable terms, and Brazil +1,1%). In Asia, like-for-like sales fell by 3%.
For the first nine months of 2017, the organic growth of the French group was 1.5%, with revenues reaching 64.9 billion euros.
