French retailer Carrefour expands its online offer and launches a marketplace where he sells partner products in addition to the products in his stores. 
Thus, the platform, embedded in the carrefour.ro site, includes two sections: "Online Supermarket" and "Carrefour and Partners".
What does "Carrefour and Partners" mean? "We bring together as many variations as possible in a single platform, marketed by various partners (online retailers). Thus, you can easily find the products in one place, choosing them according to features such as price, warranty, date and cost of delivery", Carrefour representatives said on their website.
The company also specifies that the partner products are delivered by the latter, the partners keeping responsibility for the stocks and quality. Carrefour only intervenes in the event of delivery discrepancies. Carrefour partners' offer includes over 140,000 products in many categories.
In terms of delivery costs, the company mentions on the platform that for the orders in the "Carrefour & Partners" section, the delivery cost varies depending on each partner and delivery method, with the available options being "Delivery at your address" or "Click & Collect"; as for orders placed from the "Supermarket Online" section, the delivery cost of the order contains 3 elements: the value of the purchased products, the amount of the Delivery Tax (varies according to the total value of the purchased products) and the value of the Weight Tax (varies depending on the weight of the order) The transport fee is calculated according to the order value as follows: for orders between 0,01 lei and 149,99 lei, the delivery fee is 20 lei, for orders between 150 lei and 299,99 lei, the delivery fee is 10 and for orders over 300 lei, delivery is free of charge.
Carrefour Romania is the first retailer to launch an e-commerce store in Romania 5 years ago. Also, in the past year, the premiere was also the self-service house and the Bringo platform, whose major shareholder is the retailer.
French retailer Carrefour reported a 10.6% business advance in the first quarter of this year on the Romanian market, up to 486 million euros, according to the financial report published by the company. The result is calculated at constant exchange rate, the increase in the real exchange rate on the local market being 7.4%.
At the end of last year, Carrefour owned a chain of 323 stores in Romania, including 33 hypermarkets, 237 supermarkets and 53 proximity stores.
