Aqua Carpatica to enter Tesco stores in UK | Progresiv
Aqua Carpatica, a brand created by Jean Valvis, the businessman whose name is linked to La Dorna dairy or Dorna mineral water, has been listed in UK's Tesco chain of stores, initially present in 150 locations, said for Progresiv Luminita Bostinaru , International Marketing Manager Valvis Holding.
"Aqua Carpatica has been listed in Tesco since November 13, after a long period of negotiation and product testing. To begin with, we are present in 150 Tesco stores. This listing did not involve a financial effort. In the future, we will support the brand and make it known to the British consumer. (...) The shelf price is agreed with the retailer and respects our premium brand positioning strategy", said Luminita Bostinaru.
Currently, the Aqua Carpatica brand is present in over 700 stores in the UK and Ireland.
The first steps towards exporting this brand were made two years ago. Since then, the growth rate has been steep, an evolution that attracted an increase by four times in the bottling capacity. This move allowed the company to support both the domestic market - where sales are growing by double digits - and exports to the United States, United Kingdom, UAE, China, Japan, Israel, Germany, Australia, Spain and Russia.
"We trust the chances of international success and we are in extensive discussions in several countries, such as Spain, Germany, the United Arab Emirates", added Luminita Bostinaru.
Last year, Carpathian Springs, the bottler of Aqua Carpatica, increased its business by 55 percent to 34 million euros and made a profit of nine million euros.
