Alexandru Vlad, appointed to the management of Selgros Germany | Progresiv
Alexandru Vlad, the executive who has led Selgros Cash & Carry Romania operations for the last 17 years, will take over the business leadership in Germany, confirmed the manager to Progresiv magazine. He will relocate to Frankfurt, and in Romania he will be replaced by Robert Hellwagner, who currently occupies the position of Commercial Director.
Alexandru Vlad has run Selgros Cash & Carry's local operations since he joined the market in 2001, being one of the longest-running executives in the retail and FMCG industry. Germany is the most important market for the retailer, with Selgros operating 40 commercial units, while in Romania the chain has 22 stores.
As part of Transgourmet Holding AG, Selgros Cash & Carry is present in Germany, Poland, Romania and Russia and has 90 retail units. In Romania, the retailer is one of the most important operators in Romanian trade, occupying the 8th position in the top of the largest international retailers operating on the local market, with a business worth 3.64 billion lei in 2017.
